This essay/research and assessment style paper is for my Population and Environmental Health course and is just a section of a larger paper, so I don’t think there should be a big Intro. or Conclusion. I need you to write 6-7 pages on the 4 topics of Transportation, Communication, Schools, and Service Centers in Brownsville, Brooklyn N.Y. (zip code)-11212 and answering the questions under each topic. I typed the Topics and questions that need to be answered below.
TRANSPORTATION:
How do most people get around the area? Is there public transportation? If so what kind and does it appear to be used? Who uses it? What is the overall condition of transportation services and mechanisms?
COMMUNICATIO:
Is there evidence of local and national newspapers? Are there additional vehicles for communication within the community? Is there a means for communication related to emergencies / disasters?
SCHOOLS:
How many schools are present? What is the size of the student population? What student services are available? Counseling and recreation centers?
SERVICE CENTERS:
What additional services are available in the community – health care, social services, employment offices, etc.? Are there scheduled community gatherings or events? How do people access health care?

Community Assessment Paper (35%)
The purpose of this activity is to apply the nursing process to the community. This involves assessment, problem identification, the development of a plan to address the identified problem, and evaluation. Your overall goal is to improve the health of the identified community. Students will work in groups. Each group will consist of 4-5 students and created by the faculty. Each group will be provided a zip code somewhere in the United States. Through research using technology and other creative endeavors, students will perform a community assessment and apply the steps of the nursing process from a community / public health perspective. Nurses must be able to knowledgeably plan services for individuals, families and the community. In order to effectively plan, it is essential that you are aware of the needs and resources specific to the community a client resides in to allow for identification of health-related resources and to understand gaps in services. A community assessment is conducted, and it provides an overview of a community. For the identified need, develop a community plan that includes specific measurable goals, interventions, and evaluation. Conditions and trends in the community that could affect the health of the population should be noted. Data provides background and context for working with individuals and families in their community. For data collected (statistical, informational, geographic), create a reference page usibcing APA format (6th edition).
