1. Choose one of the nursing practice issues from the ‘topic list for evaluation of clinical issues’
below.
2. Using the library search tools, undertake a focused search to find peer-reviewed research
articles about your chosen nursing issue or problem. The aim of the search is to obtain
evidence based recommendations that can be implemented into clinical nursing practice.
3. Write up your report, addressing the following:
• Discussion: Discuss the background of the issue or problem you have selected,
including the relevance of the issue to nursing practice.
• Findings: Appraise and summarise the peer-reviewed evidence you have located with
a view to solving the issue. Comment on the principles of ethical research/cultural
competence as applied within the research you have examined.
• Recommendations: Provide recommendations that are derived from your discussion
of the peer-reviewed research in ‘Findings’. This section may be written in bullet-point
format.
Your report must also inclubcide an introduction and a conclusion.
