I am a nursing student currently doing my practicum rotation in the ICU. The paper should about an experience with a client or a client’s family in which caring (or lack of caring) was demonstrated. I have attached the details.
One situation I can think of was a patient in the CVICU who had open heart surgery and was completely neglected by the ongoing nurse giving report. She said she did not visit or care for the patient at all.
When my nurse arrived she spent a great deal of time teaching the patient about how to use an incentive spirometer, deep breathing exercises and how to care for her woundvac. We did multiple blood glucose checks and ensured her chest tubes where intact. The patient was extremely grateful for the care so I would like your help in writibcing a more cohesive reflection.
