The task
Imagine you are a mental health worker and, after working with (the person/people at the centre of the case study you addressed in the case study assignment) you raised this experience for discussion at a recent team meeting. Feedback from your colleagues suggests that they had similar stories and experiences with service users over the last year. After discussing this at length, your supervisor asked if you might consider writing a submission to the Australian Government’s Inquiry into Mental Health & Suicide Prevention.
You have agreed to write a submission, especially because the AASW talks about the importance of advocacy and writing submissions, saying:
