SCENARIO
You are a registered nurse working on a medical/surgical unit of a hospital where many patients are admitted with a variety of wounds. Your nurse manager has assigned you to work on a committee comprised of nurses from several different units to determine what products are the most helpful for patients to heal wounds. As with all healthcare organizations, cost of the products is a factor. Each member of the committee is to research wound care options available and present his/her findings along with a recommendation to the nurse managers group for consideration.
TASK Write a comparative analysis of several wound care products. Write a recommendation as to which two wound care products would be most beneficial to wound healing for the hospital’s patients. Be sure to consider practical aspects of using the product (manpower, available resources) as well as cost when making the recommendations.Your first charge is to put together a proposal informing the head nurse, Ms. Hovis, of the comparative benefits of each piece of equipment and then make an ultimate recommendation of which two to buy.
