In class we’re going to talk about how work — and inequality — have changed in roughly the same time our housing market has changed.
I’ve included two pieces. Both are getting up there in years, but that’s OK — you have a good grasp of what the world of work is like now, and these fill in the gapsof the years you don’t know.
For homework I want you to gather data from these pieces on the following questions: 1. What did work in the US used to be like? Think broadly here — opportunity for advacement, security, pay, who got jobs, etc.
2. What is work like in the “now” of these pieces?
