Purpose The purpose of assignment is to allow you to explore the process of advocacy in health care policy. This assignment is intended to allow you to show evidence of achievement of: • Advocate for policies that improve the health of the public and the profession of nursing. • Participate in the development and implementation of institutional, local, and state and federal policy. Directions:
1. This scholarly paper is due on day 7 of week 5. 2. APA 7th edition formatting and graduate level writing is expected. No abstract is required; however, a title page and reference page must be included. 3. Remember, scholarly papers have three parts, an introduction section, the body/content and a conclusion section. Headers are to be used throughout. 4. There are to be at least 5 references in APA format References should be no less than 2 years old. 5. The paper, excluding the title page and reference page, should be approximately 3-5 pages. See rubric for grading details

2. Why it should be supported, with rationale 3. Identify your local legislator or state senator who would vote for such a policy and describe their stance on the policy.
