1. It is just too much! – Jane is a diversity training program manager and instructor for a community college. She has a 50% appointment to the adult education department and a 50% appointment to the Human Resource Development Department Administrator (you). You ask Jane to meet with you to discuss a new project.
A local company has asked if you might be able to conduct diversity training for the workforce. This is a great opportunity for your community college, and Jane is a fantastic educator and program developer. This is just the kind of project that would excite her! Jane sits down in your office, and when you bring up the project, she bursts into tears. She says that she has been working 60-hour weeks just to get the basic work for the two reporting units completed, and she just can’t take on one more thing. How would the leadership and administration approaches inform your analysis and your approach to the situation?

Both had the least amount of seniority, but they had a great deal of knowledge regarding technology. Morale is low among your current team of 10 (two support staff, one assistant administrator, and seven instructors). You are about to start a program with a new cohort of students. You need to plan a staff meeting. How would the concepts of Chapter 3 of the text influence your approach as an administrator?
