Prepare: The lines between public and private information is often blurred when it comes to those who are in the public view such as celebrities and politicians. Many times, the public feels as though they have the right to know intricate details about the lives of these people because they have chosen public life. The laws have somewhat stripped public figures of their right to privacy.
Reflect: After reading chapters 7 and 8 in Calvert, Kozlowski, and Silver (2023), consider those elements of public figures’ private lives that you believe should not be made public. Think about them in the context of the position that the person holds or their career in relation to specific private details.
Write: Provide a real-world example of information you believe was disseminated about a public figure that you consider to be of a private nature and unrelated to who they are in the public realm. Present an argument for your position in a 250-word post. In your initial post, you must include at least one in-text citation from the reading or viewing material for the week and you must also properly cite the examples that you used and provide links to them or upload them.
