Select and describe one of the Discussions or Conclusions from the required article from the Week 6 assignment that you found interesting and applicable to practice. Describe how you would apply the evidence to improve nursing practice. Explain your answer.
According to the study, hospital administrators must urgently devise strategies to lessen the stress experienced by nurses at work. For hospitals, it is essential to keep a nursing staff that is resilient and healthy. The field of nursing is fraught with high levels of stress; Nurses’ perceptions of stressors may result in decreased job satisfaction and burnout if appropriate resources and education are not provided. Being regarded as a remedy for burnout and stress, resilience can be taught through education and aid nurses in adjusting to stressful work environments (Leng et al.,2020). I decided to advance my research on this topic, to see if there were any strategies that were in place in other facilities. The UK’s (NHS) National Retention Strategy was launched in 2017. The goal is to lower nursing turnover rates across all hospital trusts, is one example of this. The strategy called for providing nurses and other healthcare professionals additional mentoring support and investing more in workplace-based interventions and training. Even though this is a positive move, it is critical that these initiatives be implemented throughout the entire career path. Which must start at the undergraduate level. By improving the health and safety of nursing staff, they can learn to build, preserve, and maintain their resilience. Which in turn will improve patient care quality and efficiency in healthcare systems (Henshall et al., 2020).
Discuss ways you would disseminate research-based evidence; how would you share with your peers? Include your thoughts on why it is important for you to be involved in communicating and applying nursing research evidence.
In healthcare today, Nurses are being tasked with putting existing research knowledge into practice and providing evidence for patient care. The goal of dissemination is to spread knowledge and the associated evidence-based interventions on a large scale within or across practice settings, social or other networks of end-users like patients and health care providers (AHRQ, 2012). Based on a strategic research agenda, the future of nursing requires putting an emphasis on increasing the contribution of research to nursing knowledge. This includes expanding the channels through which nursing research findings can be disseminated, such as through research conferences, clinical groups, electronic formats, and publications (Houser, 2018). According to Curtis et al., The findings of a research study are not considered complete until they are presented at professional forums, published in a peer-reviewed journal, and appropriate recommendations are made regarding how the findings could be applied in clinical practice (2017). In order to disseminate research-based evidence, you should be familiar with the type of audience you will have. I find that many of my co-workers browse many different social media platforms and are more apt to be intrigued with what is available at the touch of a button. Utilization of social media by nurses for healthcare education has become commonplace in protocols, activities, and resources thanks to technological advancements. Social media content has a significant impact on 75% of online Americans. For many, including healthcare professionals, using social media platforms has become routine (Pizzuti et al., 2020). Being a part of communicating and applying nursing research evidence, enable me to connect with others, by sharing valid and reliable evidence so they can remain current, and provide better patient care.
