Imagine that you are about to move permanently to a new city where you do not speak the language. Make a list of what you would need to do within the first five days to have a life that resembles your current conditions. Rate how stressful (On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest stress level) achieving each of those outcomes would be on you. Consider, for example, renting an apartment, getting a telephone landline installed, registering children for school, managing the public transportation system, buying groceries when you cannot read the labels, opening a bank account, buying stamps, getting a driver’s license, getting a government issues identification card, and learning what is appropriate to wear when going to school, looking for a job, or going to a party.
