Read the paper topic options for Paper 2. Choose one topic.
In a paragraph writing of 150+ words give me a bird’s eye view of your plan for this paper. You should include:
Your basic topic: for example: I want to investigate the use of the motif of the Vampyre in Frankenstein. I want to examine how the motif of the Vampyre links Victor Frankenstein and his creation.
A working thesis/position on the topic: for example: Since the revenant of Baudelaire’s poem is not of one specific gender, the revenant reveals the risk and danger in any intimate relations and relationship.
One specific moment from our readings that you plan to use in the paper. Give a full line/page citation for this moment: for example: “And silently glide toward you/With the shadows of the night” (Charles Baudelaire, “Le revenant”, Fleurs du mal, https://fleursdumal.org/poem/ 171 (Links to an external site.) : 3 – 4). Explain the significance of the moment you select, for example: Baudelaire uses the motif of the revenant, the soucouyant, which is a shapeshifter. The shapeshifter can work in various forms and does not need to be physically in the same place as the victim. The soucouyant can use dreams, visions, illusions.
