Astronauts often travel to the outer space for exploration and addition of worthwhile discoveries in the field of science. In the recent past, there has been rise in concerns over the high rate of teeth decay among astronauts who frequent the outer space. While there have been qualitative studies with conclusions that are not empirically verified, there is paucity of tangible and strong evidence of a link between travelling into the micro-gravity environment and teeth decay. The current experiment is justified because it will help fill the existing gap in literature and prompt NASA to start thinking about ways of protecting the teeth health of astronauts while travelling into the outer space.
