There are two questions in this discussion forum.
Question 1 pertains to “The Constitution and the Federal
Government”:
The constitution grants the Federal Government
power to regulate interstate commerce. Currently, a battle rages in
America over marijuana laws.
On one hand, more than half of the states have legalized marijuana
for medical or recreational use (or both). However, marijuana
remains strictly illegal under federal law, with stiff penalties for
violations.
In Gonzales v. Raich, 545 U.S. 1 (2005), the Court upheld federal
regulation of intrastate marijuana production. Based on your
readings
and knowledge of the constitution, discuss in detail and provide
support for the proposition that the framers intended to bestow this type of power on the federal government.
