The research statement should be 3 pages (single-spaced) and include the following:- Summary of your research accomplishments and current work- The research interest (what are you planning to do?)- The future direction and potential of your work.The skills and knowledge I obtained during my PhD are transferable. I used genomics and population genomics techniques to study crop domestication and evolution. I am interested in studying ancient samples which still apply the same and more broadened genomic and population genetic techniques, but this time revealing the past historical information of species (e.g., humans, animals such as horses which had an impact on human civilization).The main reason I am taking the ancient DNA path is to be able to unlock the Arabian Peninsula’s historical information. In particular, Saudi Arabia is home to a very old cultural heritage, and many archeological sites have been discovered. In the future, being an Arabic scientist, my goal is to be the “to-go” person when it comes to ancient DNA studies in the Middle east.
