Find an example of the media issuing a correction regarding politics, political parties, or public policy matters. For example, from your Internet browser, enter various search terms, perhaps along the lines of “ABC News corrections,” “corrections issued by CBS News,” “Fox News corrections and retractions,” “NPR corrections,” or something similar.
When you have found a correction, conduct additional research and locate information on the original story. Submit a post that summarizes what was first reported. Then, provide what the correction said, and if possible, glean what the problem was with the reporting. What do you think the media entity should have done to avoid the mistake? How can the media entity avoid such mistakes moving forward?
