“Exploring the Impact of Accreditation on Nursing Leadership in Healthcare Settings”
Purpose
The purpose is to have you explore the topic of accreditation in a written paper. In the version you hand in, title page, Introduction, Analysis, Conclusion and Reference list are required. There is no abstract with this assignment. You must have Level 1 headings for each of the papers sections (remember that the Introduction has NO heading so it is only for the Analysis & Conclusion) and Level 2 heading in the Analysis section if appropriate (3.03 Levels of Headings pg. 62). Read the entire section of Heading.
Instructions
The purpose of this paper is to have you explore the function of accrediting bodies either in hospitals, Long-Term Care facilities, Primary Care facilities, Health departments or Academia.
Body (Analysis)
In the body (Analysis) of your paper, explore the way in which accreditation is connected to (and impacts) nursing leadership in relation to any of the following areas: leading, managing, delegating care; effective team function; quality improvement in health care; or the effective use of human, fiscal, and material resources.
Conclusion
Write a conclusion for your paper that sums up your findings .
Paper Formatting Requirements
Include all required headings with your paper (title page/analysis/conclusion/reference The introduction of your paper should be 125 words in length. The body of your paper – analysis should be 500 words in length and your conclusion should be 125 words.
The paper should be written in professional/academic language – do not use first person
The paper should contain no grammatical/stylistic (e.g., subject-verb agreement, tense, sentence fragment, typos, commas, spelling) errors
All text must be 12pt font and double-spaced
All aspects of the paper (title page, headings, citations, references, and reference page) must adhere to strict APA formatting. All sources are used appropriately throughout the paper and cited according to APA manual.
Reference Requirements
Reference list contains all the sources cited in the paper
Follows APA style
Must have at least 5 current (less than 5 years old) peer reviewed journal articles. You may use books and internet sources IN ADDITION to the required 5 journal articles.
No more than three direct quotes for the entire paper paraphrase and cite experts. You will lose points for excessive use of direct quotes (Excessive are more than 3). You will lose 1 point per direct quote over 3 up to a total of 5. If you have greater than 5 direct quotes your paper will not be graded.
Be sure to cite appropriately! If citing a chapter in an edited book (hint: The Butts & Rich text is an example) you give the author of the chapter you are citing in an edited book format, you need to review the APA manual to be sure you cite according to APA rules both within your papbcier and on the reference page.
