Task: The research design of your chosen article will include either qualitative and/or quantitative data. Within your assignment, you will include why evidence-based practice is important to HCPs, provide evidence of your search strategy and a critique of your chosen research article using an appropriate critical appraisal checklist.
Recommended Structure
Background: This section introduces and recognises the importance of evidence-based practice within pre-hospital care (LO1). Main body: This section includes the design and methodology of the study chosen. You will explore the strengths and weaknesses of their methodology and critique their findings using an appropriate critical appraisal checklist (CASP CHECKLIST!!) (LO3 and LO1).
We also want you to discuss research ethics. For example, what are they and why they are important? Relate your understanding of ethics to your chosen paper, for example, why/how does your paper meets ethical guidelines? (LO4)
And finally, we want you to critically reflect upon your own and other stakeholders’ involvement in the research process (LO5).
With LO5, there is an element of reflection, this is critical reflection. Aim to avoid being overly descriptive and aim to use less personalised writing as reflection can still be written personally without using I, me etc…(Keepbci it in third person writing).
