Data Collection.
Go to https://us.psytoolkit.org/c/3.4.2/survey?s=UDQHU and complete the digit span again and the two Corsi block tests.
Method Section.
Write a NEW brief methods section for the lab you just completed (8 points). This will be added as a second experiment to your digit span paper. However this method section is a fresh one, do not change the method section describing the digit span experiment. Write a new one for this study.
Your goal is to describe the Corsi block lab in enough detail that anyone reading your paper could do exactly what the class did. Try not to get bogged down in reporting too many details – keep it to things that are relevant to the outcome. Pay careful attention to format of your text, citations, and references. Write in full sentences. You can go back to the website and re-run a few trials to get the details correct (just don’t save your data the second time through). Follow APA format for a manuscript as described in your textbook (sample manuscript in the back) and on the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (Purdue OWL) site.
Method
Participants
– Describe who participated, why they participated, and how many participants there were.
Materials and Apparatus
– Describe and cite the website used for testing and exactly which tests were conducted.
Procedure
– Explain the order of tests conducted, include a citation to the original author. Then describe the testing protocol itself. Explain the relationship to the digit span test on the WAIS-IV (Wechsler, 2008). Then describe a single trial: how many items were shown, how did participants respond, when increased length, when stopped. Explain the forward and backward condition. Do the same for the Corsi block tapping task (Corsi, 1972).
