Swamped with your writing assignments? Take the weight off your shoulder!
1 The student will create a medicine wheel reflecting on their self-care practices in your beginning practice as a social work student.
Here are some guidelines:
Identify your strategies in the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical dimensions of your life today. As discussed in class, if one dimension is out of balance, our medicine wheel is out of balance.
Reflect on your current self-care plan. See where the activities on your plan fit on your medicine wheel. How effective are those activities when processing the information from this course? What activities are helpful and what are not helpful? Provide examples.
What do you need more of? What do you need less of?
How can you work towards creating more balance for yourself? Provide a rationale for your responses.
2 Create a second medicine wheel, identifying what you would like your medicine wheel to look like when all aspects are in balance. This medicine wheel is aspirational. Describe briefly.
Remember the focus is on reflecting on the self-care strategies for their effectiveness when dealing with content from this course.
