Teacher evaluations have significantly changed in the past 10–15 years and consequently so has the role of the administrator in conducting them. While evaluations may be one of the more sensitive aspects of being an administrator, when done appropriately they can be instrumental in the growth, development, and advancement of a school’s teaching staff. The purpose of this assignment is to learn more about the different types of evaluation instruments and to analyze the use of classroom observations in teacher evaluations. Research qualitative and quantitative evaluation instruments a principal may use for classroom observation and select one of each to examine.
