Choose a superhero/comic book character who might not be the best role model for kids and who does not possess the most heroic qualities. Then do the following:
1. Describe the character. Contextualize the story. Make sure you clarify whether the character you have chosen is from a comic book story or a film adaptation.
2. Emphasize 2-3 qualities, characteristics, actions, or habits this person has that you consider immoral or unethical. In other words, what traits does this person have that make him/her a bad role model for kids?
3. Defend or condemn this person’s role as a superhero. Does he/she have redeeming qualities, is there more depth to the person you wish to pinpoint, are there nuances readers or viewers should notice, and what possible purpose does a character like this have? Ultimately, argue whether or not this person is a good superhero.
