Assignment Instructions:
Read the “Susan Rochester’s Dilemma” case study below and discuss this assignment with your team. Identify the issues that concern Paul Rolfe, the station’s Vice President & General Manager (VP/GM) and any key internal and external stakeholders. Keep in mind that all internal and external stakeholders may not be specifically mentioned in the case. We’ve covered functions in other course topics that may be critically relevant to this case.

Technology involved in the area
The paper must be at least 12 pages double-spaced, 1″ margin all around, black 12 point fonts (Times New Roman) with correct citations of all utilized references/sources, (pictures, graphics, etc are extra – allowed but extra for the minimum page count).
Prepare a 10-12 slide Microsoft PowerPoint highlighting the content from the paper.
The title page and references are also required but don’t count in the minimum page count.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply your knowledge of a communication model, principle or theory to a communication phenomenon either in your own life or as you observe in society.
50 points
4 to 6 pages, double-spaced, 12-point non-decorative font (between approx. 1000 to 1500 words)
Minimum of 3 sources required (citations in works cited or bibliography, MLA style)
Write an essay answering all the question below
Find a political debate either on video or described in print and decide if the debate constituted a dialogue (Chapter

4). Using excerpts and examples from the debate, identify examples of attitudes present or not present for open dialogue and address the presence or absence of dialogic behaviors in the debate participants. Some questions to consider:
What is dialogic communication? What attitudes are necessary for true dialogue?
Can you identify dialogic behaviors exhibited by either candidate that contributed to a successful debate? Or did you find defensive behaviors that may have diminished the ability for a dialogue in the debate?
What are your thoughts about the nature of political debates and the ability to have open dialogues in our society?
