This Paper is to be focused on the DIFFERENT MEANINGS and INTERPRETATIONS of the PARABLE.
The point of the paper is to research the parable and answer this question: What did this parable mean when it was written? or another way of asking that is What did this parable mean in its original context?
NOTE: This is not a sermon or a paper about how to apply this now. It is a paper about what the parable meant when it was spoken/written almost 2000 years ago. Here are some questions that might help you: Who was Jesus speaking to? (the disciples? the Pharisees? the crowd? someone else? all of these?) What do we need to know about the ancient culture in order to understand this parable? (shepherds, agriculture, etc.) Does this parable connect to the bigger emphases in this gospel, which is Jesus as the King of the Jews? What is the main message or messages of the parable?
The paper should be 5 pages, double-spaced. Cite sources using Chicago Manual of Style footnotes.

For this short paper, write a summary of what you have learned from our readings about residential (boarding) schools, violence, and Christianity. Make specific reference to facts.
I had learned previously about the residential school violence when i took a native studies class in high school.
Was shocked that the woman in the article was still able to hold onto her faith, since she as an indigenous woman had been persecuted by christians.
Was the desecration of native populations really God’s plan? Or have colonizers turned it into a way to justify their actions.

How can you hold onto a faith that has continually been used to hurt you and the members of the community?’
As a lesbian i have not recieved the same level of persecution in the eyes of the church, but i find it so perplexing that anyone who has been under the churchs knife can still identify as a christian.
I think the reason i was drawn to this course was to learn how people can still believe in something that doesnt believe in them.
Why after all the violence do people still find love?
Any time i have been to church, ive only ever seen people praising and justifying their own violent actions, not condemning them.
