The first takeaway that I have learned from this course is all the different conflict styles that we learned throughout the semester. I would say that this particular concept is really going to help me outside of this course, because I will be able to read people’s conflict style better, and get a better feel on how to communicate more effectively with them. Now with that being said, I am not saying that all of these conflict styles are healthy, in fact I do believe all five of them have some sort of flaw, but just knowing what a person’s conflict style is just tells me how good (or bad) they are at communicating all together. The other takeaway from this course would be supportive climate. One of the biggest benefits of working virtually is that each participant is able to work on the project on their own time, other than in meetings. In a group situation, working in a group virtually can have the drawback of not having answers as quickly as you would in a physical group.
