Purpose: We are expanding on the idea of interconnectedness introduced last week. Think about our interconnections through the “eco” way of thinking about the natural world around us. We are in our environment, not apart from it. Dillard, Heat-Moon, and Hutto have different and unique lessons for you on this interconnectedness with the ecosystems in which they experienced.
Your goal is to discover the common theme that these two authors and the film show us on our interconnectedness. Specifically, how does Dillard’s idea that “it’s all about keeping your eyes open” in the natural world help you focus on the message in all three sources?

2. Another sentence that develops your idea in the topic sentence
