This module discussion asks you to apply our analytical tools to the myths in the Indian Rig Veda, the Japanese Kojiki, the African Yoruban creation, and the Native American Zuni creation narratives. Please use examples from all four myths in your answers, even as the discussion allows you to use two myths per parts (A) and (B) of the prompt. Remember, it’s in practice that we gain skill—focus less on the “right” answer and more on the reasons behind your answer.
Part A: Applying the Historical Approach. Where do you see historical data in two of these creation stories? Using the historical approach as outlined in our module exploration, dive into any two myths you choose out of the four in this discussion. What might life have been like for these particular people groups at the time these myths were composed?

Part B: Applying the Cosmological Approach. Using the two remaining myths for this discussion that you did not use for Part (A), discuss the cosmologies you find in the text. Give specific examples as you utilize the cosmological approach outlined in our module exploration. On a larger scale, do you think there is significance to these cosmologies? Why or why not?
