After completing questionnaires related to the leadership approaches and theories in the first 7 chapters in the text, you will create a reflective submission regarding the insights you gained about your leadership preferences from the questionnaires. You will share which leadership approaches and/or theories are identified as areas of preference or strength for you as the primary focus.
Specific Assignment Details:
Using the data from the questionnaires, select the primary leadership approach or theory you feel most appropriate for you.
Analyze your current leadership style through the lens of your selected leadership theory and use contextually appropriate sources to support your rationale for the selection.
Further analyze your leadership preference(s) in the context of the selected theory or approach and discuss how the preferences are job or organization specific. For example, if you were in a different role or organization, why would your preferences be different, or if not, why not
Overview of Deliverable:
Using your identified primary leadership preferenceselected in Deliverable 1, choose a Case Study from the text that addresses this leadership approach. There are three studies per chapter in the text to choose from for this comparison. After reviewing the case and noting how you would approach the same situation, you will share the comparison of the approach presented in the case study and how you might demonstrate leadership in the same scenario.
Specific Assignment Details:Below are two options for presenting the comparison. If you would like to propose an alternative please reach out before completing the comparison:Option 1: Develop your comparison in writing, analyzing the leadership style presented in case study. Compare and contrast the leadership style against your own leadership style preference. How would you have addressed the challenge in a similar manner through the lens of your leadership preference? Where do you see the leadership approach most accurately demonstrated in the case study? Explain how the leader in the case study used the benefits of or demonstrated the detriments of the leadership approach.Include a detailed chart
Overview of Deliverable:Begin by sharing a brief description of a situation where you demonstrated leadership and how your actions impacted the outcome. Your analysis for this portion of the assessment should include how the Leadership approach you used in the scenario aligns to your identified preference and how the leadership style impacted the outcome–either positively, neutrally, or negatively. The connection between the leadership approach and the impact should be the basis of the analysis. The intent is for you to create a way to communicate how you could enhance your leadership skills to enhance similar situations in the future.
Specific Assignment Details:Your analysis should communicate a strong connection between the Leadership approach(es) selected and the situation described.
Describe your final determination of the impact of leadership approach(es) in the situation. This is the basis of your plan to enhance your leadership in the future.
Develop a brief plan identifying the steps you would take to enhance your interactions with the key stakeholders before a situation occurs, how you would approach a situation similar to the one described, and how the changes you recommend could improve the impact on the situation. You will only submit the plan and how you might share it with a peer or mentor for support in your leadership development.
